Welcome to The AC Locomotive Group's website. We are the UK's only dedicated AC electric locomotive preservation society. We formed in 1996 and currently have ten AC locomotives in our care, including Britain's oldest surviving AC loco, dating from 1960, through to the unique 1986 prototype Class 89. Please take a look around our website; you can read about all our locomotives and our restoration activities on them to date. If you're a fan of AC traction why not join up as a member and help to support the ongoing preservation of these fine machines? If you're interested in helping with hands-on restoration of the fleet, you are more than welcome to join us and get dirty! You don't need to have any experience to get involved and make a difference; anyone with enthusiasm for electric traction will find a warm welcome. We're also seeking new Shareholders to help fund both our current fleet and the purchase and restoration of further locos. If you're interested in owning a little bit of history, check out our Shareholder page. Looking for a change from steam and diesel? The answer is electric! Enjoy your visit.

We do not distribute spam (unsolicited email) or viruses.
Unfortunately the aclocogroup.org.uk and aclocogroup.co.uk domain and their various email addresses have been used as bogus "send"
addresses for spam email and viruses. If you have received unexpected mail from this domain, please do NOT
open any attachments contained within it. You can often identify the real sender's address by clicking 'View' then 'Internet Headers'.
Their IP address will usually be visible as the last entry under "Received:" - genuine messages from here
will always read "Received: from edge-of-nowhere.demon.co.uk" and include the IP address "83.104.38.96".
You can check the identity of IP address owners by submitting them to
ARIN or
RIPE.
