89001 on the departure road at Crewe Holding Sidings ready to work 0Z81, 23:13 Crewe H.S. to Stafford, in the late evening of 29 September 2025. This test run was the first movement under her own power on the national network in over 25 years. Locomotive Services Ltd's 90001 is dead in the train as backup. Four return runs between Crewe and Stafford were made over the two nights.
