In early 2000 we contacted the National Railway Museum at York to see if their Class 84, 84001, would be available for display with our own locos to mark the 40th Anniversary of the official launch of electric services on the WCML in September. We also suggested assisting with the loco's upkeep. The NRM were very enthusiastic and invited us to view the 84 and discuss the proposal on 1st March 2000.
